Simple Claims Process
We work with your insurance company
Over the past several years, Insurance companies have significantly changed the way they process homeowner claims. Whereas the company representatives used to require that you get several bids and they then evaluated those bids to determine a set cost/replacement value for your claim, that process has now gone away.
Today, your insurance adjuster will determine the scope of work and total cost using a database program called Xactimate®. No matter what cost the roofing contractor may say is needed, that is ALL that the insurance company will pay.
At MacPherson Exteriors, we use that very same database information to make absolutely certain that your insurance adjuster has included, line by line, such damage as we have determined need to be repaired.
Our familiarity with Xactimate®, allows us to to work more closely with your adjuster to guarantee that all damage is covered by your policy.
The Claims Process
This is the way that an ordinary claim is processed by you as the homeowner, by us as the Roofing Contractor and by the adjuster as the representative for your homeowner policy.
When you think your roof may have sustained damage, first call a qualified contractor such as MacPherson Exteriors. We are licensed, bonded, insured and a member of BBB. We will come out, inspect for damage, and, if found, do emergency repairs only.
After damage has been determined by your roofer, then you need to call your insurance agent and they will give you a claim number. Do not lose that number as it will be used by all parties to settle your claim.
You will then need to schedule a time to meet the adjuster at your home and see that they climb on your roof to properly assess damages.
After the adjuster has actually seen the damage, they will provide you with an estimate of the amount they have determined to repair your home.
If that amount is different than the cost estimate we gave you, simply forward the adjusters estimate to us and we will make direct contact with the insurance company to reach an agreed upon settlement.
Upon agreement by all parties, we can then schedule a beginning work date with you to have your repairs completed. Once work is completed to all parties satisfaction, then, and only then, we will request payment in full for our services.
